wheel. "I blew it, Jan. I ruined everything.

Some junior year this is turning out to be!"

"Well, at least we managed to raise Cindy

from the dead," Jan said. "Maybe you can do

the same for your relationship with Clint."

"Doubt it." I pulled the car into a parking

space and killed the engine. "Speaking of

Cindy, I wonder if she's okay."

"I don't know," Jan said quietly. "I thought about her all weekend." She opened the car

door and climbed out.

"Me, too," I replied, sliding out of the car and heading toward school. "I almost called her.

But I didn't know what to say."

"Well, we can check her out today." Jan

opened a fresh bottle of Evian. She took a big

gulp of water as she stepped through the

doors of the school.

We noticed a cluster of guys gathered in

front of a row of lockers. They were all standing

around a girl with blond hair.

"There's Clint." Jan pointed at the group.

"Maybe you should say something to him."

"Who's that blond girl?" I asked.

The girl turned around to face us. Jan and I

gasped.

"It's Cindy!" Jan exclaimed. "She dyed her

hair!"

"No way!" Cindy's hair looked awesome.

She'd colored it platinum blond and wore it
